EOD Buddy

Privacy policy

Effective 1 November 2026 · applies to the EOD Buddy Chrome extension and this website.

EOD Buddy has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. The extension keeps your data on your own computer, inside Chrome. This page explains exactly what it records, what goes online and what you control.

What the extension records

Only while your timer is running for a client, EOD Buddy notes which website was in front (its domain, like admin.shopify.com), the page's title (like "Ceramic Mug – White · Edit product"), and when you started and left that page. Together with the clients, tasks, hours and settings you enter yourself, that's all it stores.

What it never records

Full web addresses, query strings, what's on the page, what you type, screenshots, your browsing history, or anything while the timer is off. It has no access to all websites and runs no scripts inside web pages.

Where your data lives

Only in Chrome on your computer (IndexedDB and Chrome's local extension storage). It isn't uploaded anywhere and we can't see it. Page titles are cut to 200 characters.

What goes online

One thing: the licence check. When you activate, refresh or remove a licence, and about once a day while you're subscribed, the extension contacts our payment provider's licence service at api.polar.sh. It sends your licence key, EOD Buddy's store ID and a browser name like "Chrome on Windows · 2026-11-01", and receives whether the key is valid and the email it was bought with (shown in Settings). None of your clients, tasks, hours or visits are sent.

Payments

Checkout and the customer portal are run by Polar (Polar Software, Inc.), our merchant of record. They open as normal browser tabs on Polar's site, and Polar processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. EOD Buddy never sees your card details. If you set an email in Settings, it's only used to prefill the checkout page.

What your client sees

Only the report you copy. Page titles never go into a report or CSV by themselves; they appear only inside a suggested task you tick (and can edit first), or in the optional "Attach detailed timeline" section, which is off by default, chosen per report and visible in the preview before you copy.

How long data is kept

Visits are deleted automatically after 90 days; you can change this in Settings → Visit log. Tasks and hours stay until you delete them. Uninstalling the extension removes its data from Chrome.
